About
Welcome to The 5 Min. Forecast,
“Brevity is the soul of wit,” wrote Shakespeare long ago…and we’re inclined to agree. If there’s one thing lacking in your daily deluge of e-mails, financial media, and other distractions, it’s brief, concise judgment.
That’s why we’ve created The 5 Min. Forecast: a daily e-letter designed to cut through the incredible glut of “news” by providing you with a quick and dirty round up of the most essential ideas and not-so-common knowledge - in five minutes or less.
You’ll find the 5 Min. Forecast is chock full of quick, lucid, and compelling thoughts from Agora Financial’s editors and analysts. Our writers and editors are a globally connected, highly educated, and incredibly diverse hodge-podge of thinkers. They are private investors, world-travelers, accomplished analysts, former floor traders, leading scientists and inventors, hedge fund quants, policy wonks, best-selling financial authors, film makers, commodities experts…and more; all uniquely positioned to deliver news and trends you can use to develop a winning investment strategy.
While we hate to admit it, we’re aware that the world is bigger than Agora Financial. That’s why the 5 Min. Forecast will also include rare and unpublished insight from some of the world’s most renowned financial gurus. In the past few weeks alone, our editors have had the opportunity to conduct rare interviews with Warren Buffet, Robert Rubin, Pete Peterson, Paul O’Neill, and more. Each day you’ll find new insights about the economy, politics, and financial markets direct from the very movers and shakers who are behind the headlines.
Selecting all of these great ideas and squeezing them into five minutes is a job in and of itself. Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. Every 5 Min. Forecast will be handpicked and edited by Addison Wiggin and “Extreme” Ian Mathias . Each morning, Addison reads off his top alternative news stories while Ian grips the stopwatch…when the clock hits five minutes they cut it off, clean it up, and send it to you. (We’ve even ginned up a few stop clock graphics to keep us in line and on time.)
Of course, every once in a while we’ll find a piece of news important enough to warrant an OVERTIME briefing, but we promise it will be worth every extra second.
After all…life is short.
